What can Embec Care do for me?
Your needs are assessed by completing with you an assessment, this is tailored made to your individual needs.
Night support including ‘put to bed’ and ‘get up’ service.This is very often a very difficult time of day for carers, friends and family members, especially if they have responsibilities of their own. It may be that additional systems are required to ensure independent living and a call in a morning or evening may be all that is required to ensure this occurs.This also includes emptying of commoodes and making the bed up.
Bathing
Following an assessment of individual needs and bathing facilities available within the home, assistance can be offered with bathing. It may involve the use of bathing aids and this would be discussed during assessment.
Respite Care and Carer Relief
Being a Carer can be time consuming and tiring, which is why we offer a Carer Relief Service. This could mean a staff member sitting in the clients home whilst the Carer does errands or socialises with friends. It may be appropriate that weather permitting and individual assessment that some fresh air may be appropriate. There is also the facility to support clients and Carers by offering a respite service whereby staff would sit with clients whilst the Carer goes out for the evening. This can be extended to a night sitting service to ensure Carers get a full nights rest.
We can provide peace of mind day or night.
Assistance getting to appointments Embec Care has a specially adapted People Carrier that has a ramp for wheelchair access so we can easily transport a wheelchair user and four other passengers to all kinds of appointments such as Doctors, Dentists and Hospital etc or perhaps visits to friends, relatives or shopping trips etc.
Home & Garden MaintenanceThis service is offering an 'odd job'man to help with cutting the grass, fitting grab rails to help with accessing the property or fitting smoke alarms. The list is not exhaustive and we would encourage individuals to contact the office for more information about how we may be able help you.
Light Housework Tasks
This may include tasks such as vaccuming, dusting, ironing, washing and changing bed linen.
Personal Care
We recognise that personal care is a private and personal thing. All staff ensure privacy and dignity at all times and as such, individual assessments are completed. It may be possible to support personal cleansing tasks, getting dressed or undressed and we offer some support with changing catheter bags or assisting with the changing of TEDs stockings or compression hoisery.Personal care tasks also includes: washing,shaving,oral care and toileting.
Advice in completion of forms
The completion of forms can be most daunting and off-putting. We have staff that will help with the completion of benefit claim forms such as Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance and Pension Credit to name just some. We will also guide individuals down the path of direct payments which will help in the purchasing of care.
Shopping
This can be supported in two ways, either by the staff member collecting a shopping list and money and shopping at the clients local store, or taking the individual shopping to the local store so they can not only choose their own grocery but also beneifit from some local interaction.This can also support nutritional requirements,special diets and meal preperation.
Emergency Support
We are able to provide a rapid response in times of crisis and are able to facilitate assessment and staff placement quickly.
Hospital Discharge
We can support on discharge from hospital, this maybe to offer support following a spell in hospital whilst you get stronger and to provide family reassurances.
We can help prevent a hospital admission by providing emergency cover up to 24hrs.

Part of the service we offer is to evaluate your needs and if you qualify for any Government funding towards your care we’ll help you fill in those complicated forms that may cover the cost of your care.
